At the same time, I’m going to give you a little peek at what goes on behind the scenes and on the homefront here at Five Heart Home. So let’s get started, shall we?

If you missed this post yesterday, I’ll patiently wait here while you go check it out. Seriously, “good” doesn’t even begin to describe this pie.

Key Lime Pie with a Pretzel Crust and Coconut Whipped Cream | {Five Heart Home}

Well, I have a quick story to go along with all of that Key lime/pretzel/coconut whip perfection.

As usual, taking blog photos of the aforementioned Key Lime Pie coincided with the naptime of my youngest two darlings. The three-year-old was slumbering away, but little miss 9-month-old is cutting her top two front teeth, and that has resulted in some pretty crummy naps this week.

Sure enough, I was elbow-deep in coconut whipped cream when she prematurely woke up. I had no choice but to finish taking my pics, but she wanted no part of the Jumperoo. Smart baby that she is, she preferred to be on top of the table where she had a fighting chance of sticking her chubby little fingers right in that pie. So there I was with one arm around the baby, trying to keep her from falling off the table and holding her back from the pie. And I was simultaneously having to adjust my camera settings with the other hand, all while trying to keep both of us still enough to achieve sharp photos. Fun times were had by all!

BabyCollage_700pxLucky for her she’s cute enough to get away with such shenanigans.

Speaking of the little stinker, I had plans for one more section to today’s post, but I’m working after the kiddos are in bed and the baby keeps waking up with teething pain.  So since someone is in need of rocking and the kind of comfort that can only come from Mama, I’m going to have to wrap this up a bit early. But I’m already looking forward to next Friday!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you stopping by, today and always.
