So what else has been going on around 5HH since the last Features & Fun Friday at the end of October?

Well, I don’t think I got to share a pic of my little trick-or-treating trio. Biggest big brother decided to be Luke Skywalker, and as you can see, the younger siblings followed suit. The force was definitely with us that night…

HalloweenStarWars_700pxI snapped some fall pics of my babies a few weeks ago. We have the really pretty yellow wildflowers this time of year and I was determined to capture my kids in them before they were gone!

ChalkboardFrame_700pxOf course, no photo shoot is complete without a pose of my tractor-obsessed boy on his Pa’s tractor.

TractorBoy_700pxNovember was also the month that I joined Instagram, and y’all…what took me so long??? It’s so much fun! If you follow me there, you probably already saw this peek at my aspiring food stylist and food photographer. Yup…this is what my day looks like when blogging and naptime do not happen to coincide.

photo (1)I also shared this snap of me and my little turkey at his preschool Thanksgiving performance on Instagram. I’d love to have you follow me if you don’t already!

{GIVEAWAY: Pick a Cookbook!}

We’re closing in on December, and this Sunday is my six month blogiversary! I think that’s the perfect excuse for a giveaway to say thank you joining me on this adventure so far! I am so honored that you follow along with Five Heart Home, and I hope that you enjoy the time you spend here and find the content and recipes to be valuable. I love feedback and am always open to hearing your constructive criticism and requests…I want to make this site as useful and enjoyable for you as possible!

Today I thought it would be fun to give away a cookbook to get ready for all of the holiday cooking ahead! So I’m going to give the winner a choice between three of the best selling, most popular cookbooks out there right now. The giveaway winner will get to choose one of the following cookbooks (in hardcover or Kindle edition): Pioneer Woman: A Year of Holidays, Six Sisters’ Stuff: Family Recipes, Fun Crafts, & So Much More, or Miss Kay’s Duck Commander Kitchen: Faith, Family, & Food.

I think PW’s newest holiday cookbook looks just lovely, and I always enjoy the Six Sisters’ blog. And who doesn’t love Duck Dynasty? I have to admit that I do…that show just cracks me up. So which one would you choose if you won? If you’re not in the market for a new cookbook for yourself, remember that a cookbook makes a great gift for the holidays!

Five Heart Home: Cookbook Giveaway

  1. I’ve only just recently subscribed but I love how much fun and inspiration is packed into each episode.
I am one of the really old school types and I don’t Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Tweet, etc…..
I have email and that’s it. Don’t even have a cell phone. So, I can’t ‘share’ the site in those ways but I have been sharing it by word of mouth.

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

You are so sweet, Irene! I’m glad you’re enjoying the site and I really appreciate you spreading the word! And I almost envy you not having a cell phone…I think things are much simpler without them… 😉 Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  2. I am torn between the Miss Kay’s and the Six Sister’s. I LOVE both. I would keep them forself considering I collect cookbooks.

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

It’s such a hard choice, isn’t it, Heather? I collect cookbooks, too, and at some point I think I’m going to have to get them all!

  3. I would choose The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays, because I heart her

  4. That would be a hard choice of cookbooks! 🙂 As much as we love Miss Kay…I’d probably choose the Pioneer Woman’s Holiday cookbook. I love following along with you!!

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

I’m so glad you entered, Julie! I love following Tastes of Lizzy T as well! 🙂 Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  5. sandra cooper says:

That’s a really hard choice! I would pick Six Sisters Cookbook. What a great giveaway!

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

I’ve heard such great things about that one, Sandra! Good luck and thanks for entering the giveaway!

  6. Nice gifting ideas…as far as the cookbooks go, I think any of these would be great but I’m particularly fond of Ree Drumond, Pioneer Woman. Have a wonderful week.

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

Thanks for stopping by, Lynn! Good luck with the giveaway and I hope you have a great week as well! 🙂

  7. I <3 cookbooks! I would probably choose the six sisters stuff one… and share it with my household. We would all enjoy it!

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

I love cookbooks, too, Debra…I don’t think you can ever have too many. 😉 Thanks for entering the giveaway!

  8. I think I would pick Six Sisters Stuff cookbook and keep it for myself.

  9. Six sisters stuff cookbook. I love all cookbooks with pictures

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

So do I, Alison…I’m much more likely to make a new recipe if I can see a picture of it first! 😉

  10. Thank you so much for featuring my slow cooker pumpkin butter. Blessings this Christmas season!

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

You’re very welcome, Sonja…it looks just delicious, and I love that it’s made in the slow cooker! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas as well! 🙂

  11. I’m partial to The Pioneer Woman. I discovered that one of my family’s oldest and best loved cake recipes was one of her family’s cake recipes also. I have never seen our version of it until I saw it in one of her cookbooks. I would keep it for myself, but would let family members “copy” recipes from it.

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

Pioneer Woman has great recipes, doesn’t she, Carol? Good luck with the giveaway…thanks so much for entering!

  12. Hiya! I follow your blog here in Nigeria and I had to hunt white whole wheat flour for my first attempt at bread making using the recipe from your blog And it turned out great! I was very thrilled! I’ll love the PW cookbook as I love her recipes too..
    Thanks for the giveaway!

    • Samantha at Five Heart Home Samantha at Five Heart Home says:

Wow, Ronke…I’m honored to have you following all the way from Nigeria! And I’m so glad the bread turned out well for you! Regular whole wheat flour would work as well, but I’m glad you found the white whole wheat because it makes it even better. 😉 Thanks so much for stopping by!

  13. Sarah Allen says:

The Pioneer Woman cookbook is on my Christmas list, so I’d love to have that one. Although, I’ve never heard of Six Sister’s and I really love cookbooks, so either would be a great addition to my kitchen!

  14. Gotta go with the Pioneer Woman, and I actually might gift it to my BFF…she is a Pioneer Wrman fan like no other!

  15. Thank you! I’m so excited!
