Since joining Instagram several months back (who else loves Instagram as much as I do?!), I’ve discovered that it’s easiest to give y’all a little recap of the past month around here using a handful of my IG pics…so here goes!

My very favorite part of the last day of school? The night before, when I pack my last (albeit highly unoriginal) lunchbox for the foreseeable future. Can I hear a hallelujah?

(Until, of course, this past week, when I had to send a daily lunch with my boys to day camp. Let’s just say that having a month off from lunch-packing duties has not dulled how much I loathe this chore. :P )

And here were my big boys on their last days of school! I was feeling a bit nostalgic about how time has flown with my eldest, so I did a side-by-side of his first day of preschool (as a 2 1/2-year-old) and his last day of first grade…you know, to torture myself more (*sniff, sniff*).

And here is the darling middle child on his first and last day of preschool this school year. Spiffy new glasses aside, I just can’t get over how he lost the last bit of baby-ness to his features since last September (*sniff again*).

Some days of summer vacation have brought exciting excursions, like trips to the zoo, complete with tiger ogling and train rides.

And other days, there’s a whole lot of this going on.

My hubby and I celebrated our 10th anniversary this past month with a nice dinner out. Of course, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a family pic while actually dressed in something other than yoga pants…even though the kids were already in various stages of bedtime readiness and PJs.

What the above pic doesn’t show is the crazy weather that encompassed our house a mere two hours later. Just as we ordered dessert at our fancy dinner downtown, my mom (AKA babysitter) called my cell phone to let us know that there was a tornado warning and what should she do? I had to have her wake up the sleeping children and shelter in the downstairs bathroom while we waited for the storm to pass to make our way home. Crazy wind and thunder, freaking-out kids, electricity going off and on…fun times! Needless to say, my mom was a trouper and the anniversary couple didn’t exactly get to enjoy our chocolate souffle that evening. But on the bright side, once the storm passed and the tornado warning lifted, my 6-year-old was elated to get to watch the end of the Spurs game. What tornado?

This busy little bee officially turned 1 3/4 this month! She is such a light in our lives.

She is also a zucchini pilferer

…and a beggar of chocolate. But I wouldn’t change a thing.
