We may be in full-swing spring, but holy cow, it sure didn't feel like it this past weekend. We sat through two baseball games on Saturday in 40-degree temps with 40-mile-per-hour wind gusts, and let's just say that by the second game, everyone returned to the ball field in ski gear.? Even the bluebonnets were shivering!

Lemon Fruit Dip Close Up

Fortunately, we're supposed to be back to the high 80s this week, so I suppose that means we can trade last Saturday's hot chocolate for this Lemon Fruit Dip! Much more seasonally appropriate for April, don't you think?

Ingredients

This fruit dip is extremely quick and simple to whip up and it's absolutely delectable. And would you believe it only requires four REAL, unprocessed ingredients to make?

  1. Greek yogurt. I prefer using flavored Greek yogurt in this dip for extra flavor and extra protein...either lemon or vanilla are yummy.
  2. Cream cheese.
  3. Lemon curd. And...
  4. Lemon zest.

AKA, no Cool Whip or marshmallow fluff!

How easy is that???

Cream Cheese and Greek Yogurt and Lemon Curd in a bowl

This Lemon Fruit Dip is like dipping your fruit in a bowl of sunshine. It's creamy and silky with a bit of decadence from the cream cheese and puckery sweetness from the lemon curd. But it's also lightened up by the addition of yogurt.

The lemon zest is optional, but I think sprinkling some on top is a good way to let everyone know that this isn't plain ol' fruit dip...it definitely boasts a punch of lemon! You can garnish the top of the dip with a thin slice of fresh lemon as well, if you like.

Dippers

As for dippers, there are lots of possibilities!

I think this Lemon Fruit Dip is lovely with fruit:

  • Whole berries.
  • Apple slices.
  • Fresh pineapple chunks.

I also usually set out some vanilla wafers or graham crackers when I serve fruit dip...you know, for extra variety.

Perfect for Parties...and More!

Finally, you may be wondering when to enjoy this recipe. Well, I'm so happy you asked!

A bowl of this Lemon Fruit Dip keeps in the fridge for over a week, so I often whip up a batch to be enjoyed as a healthier dessert option or even an after-school snack.

It's also great for serving at playdates. You can always opt to leave off the lemon zest garnish if your resident fruit eaters happen to be picky little ones.

This recipe is also perfect for warm weather gatherings and parties, from a Mother's Day soiree to a Memorial Day cook-out to summer pool parties to Fourth of July festivities!

Helpful Tips, Tricks, & Equipment

  • Either regular yogurt or Greek yogurt will work equally well in this recipe. I typically use lemon yogurt, but vanilla yogurt is tasty as well.
  • Feel free to increase the lemon curd for a sweeter, even more lemony dip.
  • For an extra punch of lemon, you may choose to whip 1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest into the dip.
  • You may garnish the top of the dip with a swirl of lemon curd in addition to the lemon zest. Or, if you wish, you may choose to omit the lemon zest garnish altogether.
  • If serving fruit dip with smaller berries, set out with toothpicks or small skewers for easier dipping.
  • You can make this dip a day ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator. Just be sure to set it out about 30 minutes before serving to allow it to slightly come to room temperature for easier dipping.
