Cream Cheese Dip (Savory, Garlicky, Effortless!)
Cream Cheese Dip is quick and easy to make with just five ingredients for a savory, garlicky, versatile dip that’s great with breadsticks, crackers, raw veggies, and more!

WANT TO SAVE THIS RECIPE?
Cream Cheese Dip can take many forms.
Sometimes it's sweet. Sometimes it's savory.
Sometimes it's simple. And sometimes it's loaded with goodies.
But honestly, I've never met a Cream Cheese Dip I didn't like! 😉

Today's version would definitely be considered savory and simple. In fact, this recipe is made with just FIVE basic ingredients!
If you've ever had the plain-yet-garlicky Cream Cheese Dip (intended for dipping breadsticks) at certain pizza joints, this recipe is actually very much like that. 🙂
But in addition to being delicious with breadsticks, this dip is equally yummy scooped up with soft, warm pretzels. Or cute mini bagels. Or crackers. Or pretzel twists. Or sturdy potato chips.
Or -- if you're trying to lean a bit less carb-heavy and a bit more virtuous -- it's even fantastic on crudités...raw carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, you name it!

Ingredients
Have I mentioned that this Cream Cheese Dip can be whipped up with just five basic ingredients?!
And two of those are salt and pepper, so they hardly even count... 😉

- Cream cheese. At room temperature, for smooth incorporation of the other ingredients.
- Sour cream. Again, at room temperature.
- Garlic powder. The flavor driver! I tested this recipe with fresh garlic and thought that it had a bit too much bite. Instead, garlic powder lends savory garlic flavor without being overpowering. (Plus, you can't get any easier!)
- Salt + freshly ground black pepper. As usual, I prefer using sea salt. Taste your dip and add a bit more salt if the flavors aren't popping quite enough.
I'm telling you, it's crazy how a Cream Cheese Dip with such simple ingredients can be so addictively tasty!

How to Make Cream Cheese Dip
(The below photos are intended to be helpful, but please refer to the recipe card at the bottom of this post for FULL DIRECTIONS.)
Cream Cheese Dip can be mixed up in a matter of minutes!
- Place the softened cream cheese in a bowl and use an electric hand mixer (or stand mixer) to whip until it's smooth and creamy.

- Scrape the bowl and add the sour cream, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Beat on high for another minute.

- Taste and, if desired, add more salt and/or pepper to taste.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (but preferably longer!) to allow the flavors to blend.

Serve with breadsticks, crackers, raw veggies, or whatever dippers you like!

Yield + Storage
This recipe yields about 1 ¾ cups of Cream Cheese Dip.
Transfer any leftovers to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

And that's it!
There's not much more to say about this simple, savory, garlicky Cream Cheese Dip.
It's quick and easy to make. It's versatile. And it's yummy.
Serve it at a party with dippers. Serve it alongside pizza with breadsticks. Use it as a spread for sandwiches or burgers. Add a small bowl of it to a charcuterie board for variety. The possibilities are endless!
